„The pho­to­gra­phy series by Alek­san­dra Kubiak repre­sent con­tem­po­rary reflec­tion upon Miche­lan­ge­lo’s sla­ves sculp­tu­res desi­gned for the Pop’s Julius the Second gra­ve­stone (Christ, Atlas and St. Mat­the­w’s). The artist embo­dies the Atlas figure by exag­ge­ra­ting pro­per attri­bu­tes and her female sty­li­za­tion. She deri­des and under­mi­nes tra­di­tion of the male repre­sen­ta­tion, situ­ating her­self in femi­nist art history canon.”
