The Chief Judge Group was founded by Karolina Wiktor (born 1979) and Aleksandra Kubiak (born 1978) in 2001. The artist met in Zielona Gora, where Karolina studied Paiting and Aleksandra was a student of Art Education, both at the Art Department of the University of Zielona Gora (from 1999 to 2004). Their common M.A. dissertation artwork entitled "Try out the forthcoming Master of Arts" was defended under the supervision of prof. Izabella Gustowska and Ph.D. Ryszard Wozniak. Their artistic achievement include 78 performances, Chief Judge Group have been exhibited in the most important galleries and museums in Poland and around the world. Their works related to  current affairs of Polish politics, situation of women, artists’ material status or concepts of art institution. They were nominated for Paszporty Polityki award and "Views" – the award of Deutsche Bank Foundation (2007), they won a Polish television TVP Kultura award (2005), and International Performance Art Festival in Trento, Italy (2007). In 2009 they became scholars of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The group’s activity was described in a book "Chief Judge Group" (2008) edited by Karol Sienkiewicz and published by BWA Gallery in Zielona Góra. Two years later, in 2010 a retrospective exhibition "Being the Chief Judge", curated by Joanna Stembalska and Anna Mitus took place in BWA Awangarda Gallery in Wrocław.  Their art pieces can be found in such great collections as The National Museum in Warsaw, The National Art Gallery Zacheta, the Museum of Art in Łódź, the Signum Fundation in Poznan and in many art deposits and private collections.The group suspended its activity in 2009, due to a serious illness of Karolina Wiktor. In 2013 the Chief Judge Group ended its activity.
