"The act of covering the facade of the BWA Gallery building by Aleksandar Kubiak distorts our perception of the institution from an external perspective. Covering the gallery's front reflects the fears permeating the artistic environment around BWA of the possible disappearance of the gallery, the fears which have been around from the very beginning of the gallery's existence. The artist also makes reference to the closing down of the institution in 1981. Kubiak considers the validation of the gallery's potential, enhancing the importance of the place, which is often invisible, unseen to the inhabitants of the city and the local authorities. The installation attracts the attention of the people passing by and makes them try and recall what lies behind the huge white surface of the cover on the front of the gallery. It is also an invitation to project your own hopes and dreams, visions onto the facade of the building."
